UltraDeep for iOS Released!

October 30th, 2010

Ultra Deep

Ultra Deep

We’re glad to announe one more sucessful iPhone/iPad app that we have been involved to. Our friends at Viqua Games designed UltraDeep to be extremely addictive and very easy to get into. It is a pickup and play game that will have you wanting ‘just one more try’ every try! And the cool thing is that it can be played wherever you are and even if you don’t have a lot of time such as when waiting in line because it is playable with just one hand.

Sound design follows game art and overall philosophy. We tried to get it simple and fun.  Check it out at the app store: Get it now!

3 Peak Audio @ GDC Europe and Gamescom 2010

August 23rd, 2010

From 16 – 18 august 2010, Cologne hosted the Game Developpers Conference Europe and from 18 – 22 August Gamescon.
3 Peak Audio was there represented by Jaap Visser.

The Game Developpers Conference hosted a good series of lectures, network oppertunities and workshops (both game and film).
Most of the lectures where of high quality and had inspiring speakers. One of the most inspiring speakers was David Cage who gave a very good lecture about Heavy Rain and how to work with a more unique approach. Furthermore there were some good lectures about business, marketing, new trends, technologies etc. There was also a presentation of ‘On Live’ with a live demonstration. This really blew our minds and for sure this is something that might change the game industry. Read more »

Drift Mania3 Peak Audio is proudly announcing latest iPhone game title “Drift Mania Championship” which has been developed by our partner RatRod studio in collaboration with the official Drift Mania Canadian Championship league (DMCC).
Already entering its 5th season, DMCC is the only professional drifting series and sanctioning body in Canada developing over 600 drivers, hosting 10 competitions from Vancouver to Quebec and capturing hundreds of thousands of fans every year.

Life at 3 Peak Audio: Working remotely – part 1

January 18th, 2010

Introduction

With 2009 behind us, it’s time to look back and get an overview of all important things that happened at and around 3 Peak Audio in the last year. As you may already know, 3 Peak Audio is young company, this is our first chance to review a full calendar year behind us and analyze our achievements and mistakes in terms of running a remote start up game audio outsourcing studio. In this article we highlight a few of the most important aspects of running this kind of business.

History

3 Peak Audio was founded in the spring of 2008 as an audio production company specializing in all aspects of game audio.

The three members (Chris, Nino and Jaap) met whilst working, like so many of us do at some point, on a project which was never finished. Although this project failed, it lead the three to start 3 Peak Audio.

For those who don’t know us, Chris lives in the UK, Nino lives in Serbia and Jaap lives in the Netherlands. Even though we have managed to run a successful company for over a year and produced the audio for more than 20 games in the past year, we have not actually met each other face to face. This article shows some of the ways we manage to run the business day-to-day.

Completed Sound Design on Dominoze

December 25th, 2009

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! :)

Dominoze

We just finished our work on sound design for the Dominoze, hot new three-dimensional physics puzzle game by Gamieon . Use your wits to knock down all the dominoes in thirty rooms by solving various puzzles! Grinding gears, reflecting lasers, connecting electrical circuits, and using fans to power toy blimps are just some of the things you do. When everything is all set up, just knock over the first domino, and watch the fanfare begin! You can even create your own puzzles to share with friends!
It was great fun to work on this game, especially making parrot talk. The parrot we subcontracted didn’t acted professional at all so we had to be vary patient  with him. At the end we had just few but very nice recordings which are implemented in the game after some processing. No parrots or sound designers were harmed during this recording session.

Check out the BETA and tell us what you think.  Feel free to comment on this post about anything related to the sound in this game.
